Hello I am happy to announce that the Portage County Board of Supervisors Adopted the Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan at last nights meeting. Thanks for all of your handwork, interest and continued participation in this project.
Stay tuned for more information on the process for creating an ongoing Bike/Ped Committee at the County level. Also, a few other implementation items have started.
Bike to work week – A group of individuals from Portage County CAN, UWSP, County P&Z, City Transit etc. have been working to create the first Bike to work week event and week long promotion of events. For more information please see: http://www.portagecountycan.org/physical-activity
Leadership Portage County – a team of 11 have been working with local cyclists, community leaders and interested citizens to create rural cycling routes/loops throughout Portage County. Stay tuned for more information on this project.

Tonight at 5:00 the County Board will received the final Countywide Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan and presentation by County Planning staff on the project. Next week, Tuesday the 22nd at 5:00 the County Board will be taking action on the Plan. Please join us if you are able in bringing this Plan to Adoption!
